Sam & Steven's contemporary wedding at The Asbury Hotel in Asbury, Park, NJ mixed classic and sophisticated elements with coastal and funky retro. The Asbury Hotel is a hotel, bar, and event space located in the heart of Asbury Park NJ, only a block from the beach. The hotel features Scandinavian-inspired design with funky elements like color and disco balls. Their wedding spaces include the open-air rooftop and the indoor-outdoor flow reception space.
With rooms for guests to stay in and the beach nearby, this New Jersey wedding venue is the perfect weekend getaway for your guests to enjoy the Jersey Shore while in town to celebrate. The Asbury Hotel is also attached to Asbury Lanes, a bowling alley that makes the perfect after-party space (spoiler alert: they did this with pizza, which was a huge hit!)
Sam, the bride, started out the day getting ready at The Asbury Hotel . Her thoughtfully curated details spoke to her eye for contemporary design, simplistic black and white elements, and sentimental details. Her dress from Lovely Bride NYC designed by LoversXSociety displayed delicate lace floral detailing to bring detail to the simplistic V-neck crepe wedding dress.
Their first look was followed by their wedding party and family photos, giving them the opportunity to mingle with their guests during cocktail hour. Then we snuck off to take some photos on the Asbury Park Boardwalk and Beach, and the beachside bar-goers cheered us on the whole time – we love to see it!
They chose to host their ceremony on the rooftop at The Asbury Hotel and we lucked out with the perfect summer weather! It was slightly overcast which provided some cloud diffusion for the photos, and the cool sea breeze swept through the space. Their stunning arch with white roses and baby's breath was designed by Ivy on Main florals. Sam had actually changed the design only 2 weeks before the wedding, the florist absolutely knocked it out of the park!
The reception decor matched the ceremony's theme of white roses and baby's breath. We love a tented reception space, and the overhead string lights really warmed up the space! Then we got to watch the newlyweds dance the night away to Atomic Funk Project's stellar live music. In fact, they were having so much fun, they didn't even stop to cut their cake! (Don't worry, the guests all still enjoyed it!) A live band is always a crowd pleaser, and this group of musicians was INCREDIBLE!
The evening concluded with an afterparty at Asbury Lanes with pizza for a late-night snack!
