Nicolette and Jason’s wedding at La Casa Toscana in Fort Myers, Florida, was the perfect blend of modern elegance and timeless charm with a personal twist that made every moment unforgettable. From the fashion-forward style to the thoughtful details, this day was full of creativity, meaning, and so much joy. As their photography and videography team, we had the privilege of capturing both the quiet, intimate moments and the vibrant celebration that followed.
The couple envisioned a wedding at La Casa Toscana that felt modern yet timeless. Nicola and Jason asked their guests to dress in “colorful black tie,” and wow, their loved ones understood the assignment! The vibrant fashion choices set beautifully against a neutral backdrop of soft white and black decor and classic floral arrangements. As Nicola put it: "Everyone at our wedding is truly the color of our life, and I thought having white and black decor accents would really let them shine." This thoughtful approach made every part of the wedding feel intentional and personal.
As a former Miss Florida USA, Nicola knew what it meant to wear white gowns—but she wanted something completely different for her wedding day. Inspired by Grace Kelly, she chose a custom Mila Nova gown with a dramatically long train and a classic mantilla veil for the ceremony. Her look evolved throughout the day with a peplum top added a playful twist during cocktail hour. Then for the reception, also hosted at La Casa Toscana, she removed the peplum to reveal a sheer bodice, adding a bold, modern finish. Jason kept it timeless in a classic tuxedo and bow tie, perfectly complementing the day’s sophisticated style.
Nicola has always associated romance with flowers, and it showed. Her bouquet held a deep meaning. Both her grandmother and mother carried lilies of the valley on their wedding day. Nicola carried 57 stems in honor of her late grandparents, keeping their memory close throughout the ceremony. She requested as many floral touches as possible, centering on her favorite, white roses, which were even suspended above the dining area from the pergola along with soft flowing drapery, creating a space that felt intimate and elegant. Live musicians performed during the ceremony and dinner, adding a romantic soundtrack to an already magical atmosphere. Every piece of the wedding day felt cohesive and custom, thanks in part to a personalized monogram designed just for Nicola and Jason. It appeared on their stationery, menus, bar signage, and even on custom aprons worn by the dinner staff!
From a wedding photographer's perspective, this wedding at La Casa Toscana was so creatively inspiring for me. Nicola and Jason cared deeply about the design and details, but their main focus was staying present with each other and their guests. We captured a stunning set of portraits in a short window of time, but the real beauty came from how much joy and intention filled the day. From emotional vows to vibrant celebration, this wedding truly had it all and it was an honor to tell their story through photos and videos.
Nicolette and Jason’s wedding day was a perfect reflection of their style, values, and love for each other. It was a day full of meaning, surrounded by the people who matter most, and designed with care down to the very last detail. It was such a joy to document their story through both photography and videography.
