A Classic Black Tie Wedding at Vizcaya

Cristina and Eric’s Vizcaya wedding was the perfect meeting point of timeless elegance and fashion-forward style. Set against the historic architecture and gardens of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, the day felt classic and luxurious while still leaving plenty of room for a more editorial approach to the photography.

The day began at The Moore Miami, where Cristina got ready surrounded by her closest people before stepping into her Maria Farbinni gown. Eric wore a custom white tuxedo paired with Christian Louboutin shoes, setting the tone for a wedding that felt polished, intentional, and undeniably fashion-forward from the very beginning.

Once we arrived at Vizcaya, we carved out dedicated time for portraits before the ceremony. This is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day because it gives me the freedom to really work with the setting and create the more iconic, editorial images that require a little more intention. Vizcaya is especially incredible for this—the architecture, symmetry, gardens, and waterfront views create an endless number of opportunities for portraits that feel like they could belong in a fashion editorial.

For Cristina and Eric, we leaned heavily into that feeling. There were plenty of composed, fashion-forward portraits where we could slow down and make something striking, but I also wanted the gallery to feel like their wedding, not simply a collection of portraits. Throughout the day, I mixed those intentional images with candid moments between the two of them and their guests, allowing the photographs to move between polished and spontaneous.

The ceremony took place on the Mound, one of the most striking architectural locations at Vizcaya. From there, guests moved into the gardens for cocktail hour before heading to a tented reception overlooking the water beside the mansion.

The reception carried the same classic, luxurious feeling into the evening, with a packed dance floor and plenty of energy as Cristina and Eric celebrated with their guests.

For couples searching for Vizcaya wedding inspiration or looking for a Miami editorial wedding photographer, Cristina and Eric’s day is such a beautiful example of what makes this venue so special. The combination of Vizcaya’s historic architecture, Miami’s unmistakable sense of style, and intentional portrait time created a gallery that feels both timeless and distinctly fashion-forward.
